I wanted to share with you that last Friday I dropped Nuri off with his trainer for a herding lesson while I dealt with helping preparing for an AKC herding trial.
After the lesson, Nuri's trainer said "So ask me how Nuri did?" The answer was "FABULOUS!!!"
Nuri will be barely 9 months old (required age for a herding entry) when he will be entered in his first AKC herding trial this coming September. He is that talented!!
"Uncle Gordy" (Ruth's wonderful boy) is so proud!!

The world has lost one of the greatest examples of
"the total German Shepherd" of our time.
Lida, I'm so so, very sorry and am in tears as I write this. I just read on the database the news about Gucci's passing and know you must be absolutely devastated. I know how you gave up everything else (literally) to keep your word with Bosse and maintain Gucci as the great one he was.
Lida, you did it! You kept your word and went WELL BEYOND Bosse's expectations for Gucci. Nobody could ever have given Gucci a better life, nor given him a better legacy than you did. I don't know of ANYONE who has brought in a big name dog and then kept him up the way you did with Gucci. Rest now, Lida. Your promise has been fulfilled, Gucci's reputation is UNTARNISHED thanks to your diligence and Bosse has his friend back with him now. But who will comfort the sweet Ms. Lida now? That's what I'm worried about. We're ALL here for you, Lida, so call every one of your friends and talk about Gucci until your voice is hoarse, as he will live on and on through our voices and memories. Through his children and grandchildren and that's all thanks to YOU. Even the working line breeders admire Gucci because YOU kept his training up and made sure he showed himself here in the USA. Your GREAT personal sacrifices (and I know how great they were) were not in vain. Nobody else I know of has done so well with a famous dog brought into this country, Lida. Only you have done that, my friend!
Gucci, the GTreat One, the best of the best, was very lucky to have you.
May he rest in peace and be remembered forever as the ideal GSD, who lived up to his reputation his entire life, thanks to two special people.....Bosse and Lida.
